True Dual- Summit X pipe

I am thinking about running true duals with longs tubes. I looked into the universal x pipe from summit in 3 inch. Who has ran this set-up? Any one have any feedback or opinions. Any photos of this setup? I am concerned with ground clearance I want to be able to use this car to drive most places.

Re: True Dual- Summit X pipe

Then don't use 3" unless you're going to make like 600 RWHP. Absolutely useless otherwise. In fact it will reduce your low RPM torque due to exhaust gas velocity being too slow (it cools down too quick in a fat pipe and can't exit as quickly, reducing cylinder scavenging). Lingenfelter used 2.5" true duals on lots of his setups that made HUGE power. I am planning true duals (might want to check out my link on this page "2.5" True Dual Planning"). I will likely use the Summit or Jegs X-pipe but will put a 90* mandrel bend on the driver-side of the end of the X and then use the 45* leg on the 90* so I can run it parallel with the passenger pipe to go over the axles (only way to go IMO). I am going with the 2.5" X-pipe assembly. See the sticky threads in this forum on true duals and exhaust setups for lots of good info, also LS1 Tech has some good write ups and threads.
