Thoughts on sound.
I'm trying to explain to another F-Body guy about his exhaust choices. He has a 3.4 Camaro and wants to put a cat-back on. I believe he's convinced that a dual exit muffler will be louder than a single exit muffler of the same brand and model. I used these two system as examples

These two systems will sound exactly the same? Correct me if I'm wrong.

The crossflow/transverse aka Camaro style muffler is more restrictive than the single in/out designs. If you think about it, the exhaust has to reverse it's flow for to exit on the passenger side of a transverse muffler.
Usually, more restiction = less sound. An 80 series Flow (transverse style) is not as loud as a 40 series (sing in/out) and never has been.
The other thing I'll throw out there is that Flowmasters on a V6 sounds like an old tractor. It may be loud, but is it the sound quality that he wants?
