I removed mine. It's fairly easy to figure out. It's been awhile, so my memory is a little sketchy. I bought a bypass hose that I think runs from the water pump to where the cooler lines attached to the radiator. There are also a couple of studs used with the oil cooler that hold the oil filter adapter in place. You'll need to replace those with a couple of bolts, or the oil filter won't screw on flush. I got the bolts at a local Chevy dealer.

Check out shbox.com. I think there are some diagrams there that show the hose, and routing, I'm referring to.

I think the part number for the hose is 10197675.
I believe the part number for the bolts is 3951644.
I would suggest confirming those part numbers.

I also bought an oil filter adapter. That wasn't necessary because when I removed the cooler there was already one on my car.

I found that post from shoebox with the part numbers. I am going to get them so I can delete the oil cooler. BTC, are you saying that once you removed the oil cooler, the oil filter will screw on to the engine block (like it would on an older 350). I found a picture of the oil filter adaptor on Jegs.com, but it doesn't look right.

The oil cooler is attached to the oil filter adapter, so you don't need another adapter. You just have to replace the studs in the adapter, that are used in conjuction with the cooler, with bolts so the filter will fit.

Thanks, man. I just found a picture from another post and it all makes sense now. Thanks for all the help. I told my wife what my budget was for this and I think I am going to go over it...I probably be dead in a couple of days, HAHA!
