Summit x-pipe kit w/ Hooker LT's.

Anyone get these two to work together for a DIY job? The Hooker LT's practically hug the floorboard and my current Y-pipe has a small drop down mandrel bend that gives additional clearance downward before the Y.

I'm thinking a straight shot out of the Hooker will run into stuff, but I have to look again to make sure. Even w/ my Poly motor mounts in it doesn't look like there's enough room....

Anyone try this combo yet?

i'm running 3" duals using the summit Xpipe on my LS1.

i've also got the poly motor mounts and my clearances are less than 1/2" and never have hit.

what kind of mufflers are you planning on running?? because in all honesty...if i could do it again i would build a TD setup out of my old Ypipe. just cut the junction off before the merge and run 2 pipes parallel down the passenger side of the torque arm. you can probably run 2 bullets, staggered so that they don't touch and dump both before the axle with no major lose of clearance. magnaflow even makes an X pipe junction..with parallel inlet/outlets (unlike most 45* inlet/outlet Xpipes) to make the setup even easier.

that's what i'm planning on running someday. but i plan to run the pipes over the axle and put the mufflers out back.

do a search for Gripenfelter's TD post...it has plenty of pics of his and other setups.
