Stage 8 header bolts

I just purchased a set of Stage 8 header bolts for my Jet Hot LT but I am unsure if they are the right type for a LT1. On the box it says for a SB Ford size(16)3/8-16x3/4. The sales guy says that is the right size and that it doesn`t matter if it says SB Ford on the box. What is the right size Stage 8 header bolt or was the sales guy right???? Please help.

I got Stage 8 bolts for the 3.4 and they said "for 2.8L". I called the stage 8 hotline (is that what you mean by salesguy?) and he said they will fit. I already knew of the relation of the 2.8 to the 3.4, but I was just making sure. If a Stage 8 employee tells you they will fit, then they probably fit. I don't think it's that unlikely that a few peices here from GM and Ford are the same.

Those should be the right ones, but personally I would have opted for the 1" long bolts instead of the 3/4"

The difference is that Fords use 16 bolts and Chevys use 12 so you will have some left over. I used 3/4 bolts on my Hookers, no problems.

Depending on the thickness of you're flanges, but I'd opt for 1" to make sure.

For that matter, I'd consider going with SS ARP---since I beleve it would be a pia to install and remove the locks on the Stage 8s. JMHO

stage 8's anre a PITA. just when you think you have them tight, you have to back them off to get the lock on. i gave mine away and got SS ARP 1" and used a set of Mr.Gasket header lock washers in place of the ones that came with the ARP

Yep, installing Stage 8s on my friends LS1 became a two man job. Who would have thought installing bolts would be so difficult.
