SLP catback adapter?

I was going to post this in the exhaust section, but my questions pertains to LT1's and maybe someone has done this before. I am looking at buying the SLP loudmouth off ebay for like 400$. However, it says I need an 80$ adapter kit to make it work on LT1's. Would it be possible to just buy a piece of exhaust from a shop and weld it on myself? I don't know exactly what the kit contains but I imagine it is just tubing. I have access to a welder at my house so I would like to try that.

If anyone has done this before, I would love to hear how they did it. Thanks

Dan

^^lmperformance has the install kit for 85 dollars for the 93-95, which i'm assuming you have. i had to buy the extra installation kit for my 97 but its a different kit for 96-97 thats only 36 dollars. mine just had the extra little hanger thing, yours looks like it comes with some extra pipe as well
