side exit pipes
side exit pipes
Been searching for a while, didn't come up with anything. Thinking about setting up a true dual system, with pipes exiting right in front of the rear wheels. I absolutely don't want the typical in front of axle dump setup, as the resonance would get highly annoying to me on a long freeway trip.
Seems like most of the cost in a TD setup is going over the rear axle..might this be a decent compromist?

Oh god no!
Those always end up looking goofy as hell, as it seems everyone just rips off the Corvette pipes that are far too short for an F-body.
I was thinking more along the lines of the Roush Mustang setups.

Whatever you do, don't end up like this ricer that lives in my town. I see him every once in a while. He has FAKE dual side exhaust on each side. It's kinda like what you would see on the 80's racing BMW's, dual chrome 2 inch slanted tips, except they're up too high, and you can see the exhaust coming out of his single fart can in the back LMAO. Here's where it is on the car, it looks like an older white probe, but I'm not sure.

Check out the pics on that sight, looks pretty good but it's a lot of work. I think going through the ground effects is the only way it will look right.

There are no ground effects to cut through on my Z28, if I were to cut anything, I'd be going through the subframe/body. I'm not about to start hacking the car up like that. I was thinking I could run normal round tubing down the factory tunnel, then switch to oval tubing to run out to the wheels.

I wasn't referring to drone of duals, but rather drone of dumps. Every car I've had where I had dumps on the car, the resonance inside always bothered me on long freeway trips. I'm also noticing it on my Z now, with the stock muffler removed, but the intermediate pipe still in place. As long as the exhaust exits somewhere past the body, I'm fine.
