shorty's to LT's??

is it worth it to go from shorty's to long tubes? in the weekly sales section i can get a good deal on some pacesetter long tubes and a y-pipe, and i just wonder if its worth the $450 or so that they would end up costing me to go from 1 5/8 hooker jethots with emissions to Pacesetter 1 3/4 longtubes and y-pipe without emissions? What kind of gains would i expect?

(ps i think i may have to do them anyway because of the new UMI k-member, but i just wondered if it was worth it anyway)

thanks

Very much worth it. There are plenty of posts about this topic.

Go with LT's, you will regret the shorty's.

I already have shortys on the car.. i bought it with shortys on it.. im asking if its worth upgrading. Obviously you both think it is though

Does anyone have any power numbers that i might gain from switching? I know long tubes make about 15 extra rwhp over stock, but what about over shortys?

thanks

You will most likely see some modest gains over the shorties, but spark plug access will be greatly improved. If you start doing some more serious modding to your car, those long tubes will start to be of more benefit as well.
