dont waste your time. I've heard they only flow marginally better than stock manifolds and often cost more than LT's. Look for a used set on here and ebay. I got mine on here for $170 shipped (used of course but who cares)

Ive always heard long tubes are so much better for LT1's. Shorties arent the way to go. Like said above, buy some on here....

Actually i just installed shorty headers today and besides running out of light and not being able to retorque the headers im happy with em!

You live in CA like me and do you really want to be taking these pain in the *** things off every two years for smog?

Mine are 50 state smog legal! after i get them retorqued and seal up the leak's im never going to have to touch em again!

So if you want street legal never have to worry about cop's pulling you over popping your hood and making you go to the state ref then get the shorties.

Shorties are a decent upgrade over stock manifolds on anything other than an LS* engine. However, if emissions laws don't rule them out, long tubes are a much better use of your money!

From those that have had them, I have heard some good feedback. Not to mention, it seems shorties have a very slim resale value so if you can get a set dirt cheap, then why not.

I started with SLP short manifold/ headers. Not much improvement flowing thru stock cats and exhaust system. Replaced everything back from the header, and, flows very good. Still running the SLP's. (Random Y/ modified Mufflex 3 1/2"/ & QTP bypass). The short type offer good clearance with lowered springs (about 3/4 to 1" for my app.). I don't think SLP sells them, and, the Jet-Hot coat is a great addition. But, I would go to long tubes now. (97ss 383 D1 M6) B.

I love my SLP shorties, they are one of the larger ones at 3 3/4". I saw a huge improvement over stock manifolds, both performance- and sound-wise. Check out the videos (link in my sig -- scroll halfway down the page) to hear how they sound on my 383 LT1 with a Flowmaster AT cat-back.
