Shorts vs Mids vs LT's

Call me stupid (please actually don't) but is there actually a performance difference in the shortys vs mids vs lt's?

if so, why? I've always run shortys (for clearance sake) and never thought it could be stopping me from full potential of the exhaust.

longtubes = most poweri believe it has to do with the amount of piping and the collectors

Honestly, if you have to ask... do some searching.

My car with a large cam makes 20 hp/20 tq MORE just by opening the cutout... and yes, I have shortys.

LT headers are not THAT bad for clearance, and can net up to 40+ hp/tq on a built motor over stock, and 30+ hp/tq over shorty headers.

Why? They flow better. They scavenge better.

On a bolt-on car, the differences may not be as extreme. Once you start doing some more work to it though, the better flowing mid length or long tubes are really going to shine.
