Rusted Broken Headers

My long tube headers have recently rusted through and broke off at the flange where it bolts to the Y pipe. Does anyone think this is fixable, maybe welding in a coupler or sleeve to reattached the pipe? Basically the headers come down now off the motor and just hang there with no bolt flange. Again, rusted/broke off right at the flange, so there is pipe availbable there to weld to. Anyone with simular experiance?

Why fix it when you can buy a nice set of stainless headers and you will never have to worry about it again?

You would have to remove the header and replace the part of the primary that is rusted. However you have to still have solid metal to weld to. Be realistic though if the problem primary tube is trashed then the header is trashed, paint it and hang it on the wall.
