Quiet "Bullet Style" Mufflers
Quiet "Bullet Style" Mufflers
Hi guys. I have a true dual setup on my car that has bullet style "race only" mufflers that dump down right before the axle. Due to clearance, I want to run bullet styles again. Anyone know of a quiter 3 inch inlet bullet muffler. Maybe a turbo muffler, etc?
Something that would be way quieter would need a larger / longer body, and a louvered core.
Most Bullet mufflers are preforated. Bad news is that the louvered cores kill flow and create a bit of turbulence. So you have to make a trade off between quiet or being efficient. Being a 3" inlet, the case will be most likely 4.5" in dia. so ground clearance is going to be an issue.
Alot of places will custom make whatever you want though.

Try the magnaflow bullets, they should be a little quiter than the dynomax but who knows? I was going to get them, but I'm just going to get the 4x9 MFs so I won't have to worry about the noise as much.
my magnaflow 4x9 "box style" mufflers tuck up nicely under my car with my 3" duals.
they are the same thickness as a bullet
and the sound is fantastic. quiets my cammed ls1 nicely....search my name and you'll find comparison vids of straight pipes and then with mufflers.
