question about pacesetter longtubes.

i have a 96 z28 with dual cats. i am just trying to make sure i get the right headers for my car. my car is basicly stock with a few addons. as far as exhaust goes i just have a magnaflow dual catback exhaust on the car. i am interested in the pacesetter lt's the coated ones of course. i just am confused which to buy as far as the ones with egr/air hook ups or the "race" ones with out the hookups. i would like to know what is best for me. i am just looking to add flow and sound to my exhaust. what other parts will i need to buy.i was searching on herronperformance.com and seen they have best prices. i just want to make sure i get the right set up when i buy the ones i decide on. what should i know before installing these and how hard are they to install. anyone with info on these please help thanks.

Well just make sure you order them for a 96-97 car if your going to be running the stock emissions stuff as the threads are different from the earlier years. Obviously if your not going to be running the emissions items then you can buy the "race" headers which dont have the emissions adapters and you dont have to worry about that. Cats you will have to run duals on the y pipe you buy with the headers or you dont have to run any at all.

The "race version" requires you to block off/remove your AIR Pump and EGR. If your state doesn't require emissions, search and find out what these components do and determine if you want them or not.

Here's what AIR does, since it was only a few threads down from this one. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=636013

Also, if you buy the non "race version" you and later decide to delete one of these components, you can block them off on the header or have someone weld up a block off plate.
