Pacesetter Ypipe fitment problem

I have pacesetter longtubes installed and all was good, now I have installed the ypipe (w/ the assistance of a hack saw) and the problem seems to be that the bracket w/ the slots for the two nuts which used to hold the old exhaust and is also used to hold the pacesetter y on the passengers side does not come close to lining up. There is about a 2 inch difference in length, It's almost as if the ypipe needs to come toward the front of the car another two inches but it is not possible since the tubes are as far up on the headers as possible. I bought the ypipe off the for sales section ,is there a difference between the 96-97 and 93-95 ypipes or manual vs. a4?

Mine is the same way doesn't line up thought I read on here somewhere you have to have a new hanger welded in, but I never did never had any kind of problem so you should be fine.

I'm interested in knowing which cars it does lineup.... weird... I was thinking about taking some wire and using that to attach it to the original brace.

My dad fabbed up a bracket and welded it to the pipe for me. Otherwise, as you noticed, it doesn't even come close.

When I had a y-pipe, the bracket did not line up for me either. If you insist on using it, then you are going to have and custom make a way for it to work. I think most people just leave it be and let the rest of the exhaust hangers do the work.
