Pacesetter LTs and oil dipstick question ...

When I removed the OEM exhaust manifolds I didn't take the oil dipstick completely out. I just unbolted the brace from the block and then "gently" bent it down toward the frame out of the way. When I put the headers in can I bolt the headers up and bend the dipstick back up or does the header have to go down over the dipstick allowing it to come up between some of the tubes? If this is the case does anyone remember which tubes I should snake it through? Thanks!

on my pacesetters the tube comes out right behind my third primary, and the 2nd and third tubes run underneath it maybe someone has some pics of it.

you should just take it out completly its not that hard I don't even think you can put the header in with that in the way.

I know they should come out easily but this one was stuck for some reason. I removed the bolt on the block holding the tab but when I pulled up on the dipstick it wouldn't budge. ??? I just bent it out of the way to get all the old stuff off. I'll try pulling on it again because there really isn't anything holding it in now.

Yeah mine was kinda hard had a friend pull and twist from the top and I went underneath the car and pulled from the bottom it took awhile but it came slowly Ithink twisting and pulling helped because it didn't move just pulling on it.

Yeah, you gotta wiggle it out. Once you start to work it up, a little shot of WD helps.

It's tough to get it out at first, but once it starts going with a little bit of wiggling it, it starts to get easier.
