Pacesetter LT woes
Pacesetter LT woes
This is my first post and I have a problem with my Pacesetter LT in my 94 TA. The problem is my driver side header goes right in to the floor support right in front of the fuel and brake lines and the only way I can get a 3in exhaust pipe on it is if I lower the trans cross member a half an inch. And still its real close . I have installed new poly motor and trans mounts (yes they are in right) and they no longer hit the K member on the passenger side but I did not fix the clearance to the driver side floor. The only way I can see how to fix it is to reduce the pipe to 2.5 (going in to a 3in X pipe) and then bump it back in to 3in until I clear the fuel and brake line area . If you have any suggestions I would be grateful to hear them. thanks
The Pacesetter Y-pipe that most people buy when they buy the long tube headers actually has a slighty "squared" portion of the pipe right in the area you are talking about in order to clear the brace.
The duals I just had fabricated for my 95 Z28 have dual 3" pipe into an X-pipe just like what you are having done. My exhaust guy just angled everything just right so it was not an issue. Any exhaust place should be able to help you out.

Did you loosen the header bolts on the engine to get the most possible rotation out of those?
Yeah, your pacesetters should have a flat there. You could add one with a torch and press or hammer, nobody will see it there, but who wants to trash their coating? Although if they are not ceramic, then just do that and repaint.
