Pacesetter LT/ORY with 2.75 catback - how bad?

I'm planning to use those LTs and ORY with the stock catback pipe and my Flowmaster 80 series crossflow muffler, for a while at least. Stock pipe because I can't find just a 3" intermediate pipe available for sale, only full catback systems. I want to run the Flowmaster because I love the sound, and I have read here it only costs maybe 1-3 HP. I'll be around the 400 RWHP level.

Questions:
How much power will I give up using the 80 series with 2.75" (stock) intermediate pipe?

How much better would the 3" intermediate pipe be with the same muffler?

If it's a big difference, I'll probably add an E-cutout after the ORY.

Since it does pose a slight restriction to the rest of the setup, I'm sure it will choke you up a bit, but probably not enough to notice or worry about. Put on the 30 dollar cutout and then you can keep the sound of your existing catback and the peace of mind for the track if you are wanting to squeeze out every last bit.

The cut-out is a good idea. I thought about LT's and ORY with a stock exhaust + cutout (kinda makes it a sleeper). Luckily I found an SLP 2OTL on ebay for cheap, so I'll be going that route. It would be nice if somebody would produce a 3" over the axle pipe so those of us without access to pipe benders and welding equipment could fab up our own exhausts.

ricehammer, thanks for the links. I found those, too, but they are listed for the LS1 cars only, 1998 and after. Nothing comes up in a search for my 95 but a 2.5 inch intermediate pipe.

I guess that puts it in perspective. Not so bad a tradeoff on the pipe, then. Thanks.
