Question Pacesetter or Jet Hot?

I am in the Market for some Longtubes on a budget . I have been on the prowl for a week now trying to find exactly what I need. The 2 headers I think would be the best are Jet Hot's Coated (pn: 2533) $500 and the Pacesetter coated by Jet Hot $414 (pn: 70-2255). With the Jet Hot's you can buy a Coated Cat Y-Pipe (pn: JH50800) $400 = $900 for both. Now my second options would be to buy the Jet Hot coated Pacesetters from MarylandSpeed.com, and get the Texas speed and performance y-pipe made for Pacesetters $300 (pn: 25-CatY) and have them sent to Jet-Hot for coating = roughly $700 for both + roughly $100 for coating. Do you guys think its is neccessary to use Ceramic coating for the Y-pipe. Also is it worth spending the extra $100 or so to have the Jet Hot's, I hear a lot of good things about the Pacesetters and Jet Hots. What are the differences in ground clearance with both? What header bolts, gaskets, and O2 Extentions are needed 12" or 24" Flat or Square. Please chime in with any info. Thanks btw I have used the search Function

The Pacesetters should have a little better ground clearance because they are a slip fit style and the Jet-Hots are a flanged header. If you are looking for the utmost clearance, the Pacesetters may be up your alley. I would get the coating from Jet-Hot though. From personal experience, I am not completely satisfied with the Pacesetter "armorcoating."

Not that it is flaking, it is rusting though. This all happened not even a year after installing them and mind you I don't drive my car in the rain or snow.

Yeah, someone said there coating has become better but I know from experience that Jet-Hot has a good coating. I'll stick With Jet-Hot.

I will have these headers for about a year and a half now. If there coating has improved, I will never know. My next set is going to be a pair of stainless Kooks coated by Jet-Hot.

I hear that. My car isn't even running yet, but I've already decided that if I ever get headers they are going to be Kooks. Wasn't one of the site sponsors offering free Jet-Hot coating on Kooks over Christmas? That's the kind of deal I want. I think one guy that bought them even posted some pics. Those headers looked good enough to dry hump.

Yeah, I thought it was Tbyrne that did that special. Not a bad deal.

Jet Hots are slip-fit too (at least they are for my LS1).

Trust me on that one ... I have a set bolted to my car that I just bought ~1 month ago . $750 for the Jet Hot LT's and Y-pipe from Custom SSI .

.....now if I could only get the damn engine running ... other thread ... .

Oh, and you'll need a pair of 12" square O2 extensions .

Yes sir, you are right! Big mistake on my part, I had a fit of confusion with the Hooker LTs.
