Most any longtube will get the job done. I have Pacesetters and like them. Dynatech is suppose to be good too, but I think they have bad plug access, compared to some others. Don't quote me on that though.

True, however you cannot sacrifice quality for price in my opinion.
And some are proven less of a headache than others.

Like I said, I like my Pacesetters, great price and they fit well with just a little extra work. I think I did sacrifice quality some what, but not enough to justify buying Kooks. To many storys of guys laying out the big money for little to no improvement in rwhp.

Kooks stepped headers are great once you have bigger HP motors, at least thats where they're supposed to help.

My pacesetters had ZERO problems with installation, now my duals on the other hand...

Yeah it's all a matter of opinion. I first started with Pacesetters, they were very poor in quality when I recieved them. Bought from jegs brand new with mc-15 coating. Had a severly warped flange as well. So I sent them back and payed a little extra for the hookers, and I haven't had a problem since.

I'm not doubting that some are better than others, what it boils down to really is the quality that you recieve them in, and the fact that there are just some bad batches.

I wouldn't think anticipated performance gains in comparison to other long tube headers would be the primary motivation for purchasing Kooks. At least for me that wasn't a consideration, but my engine is also stock. Supposed quality, fitment and the fact they are stainless are the reasons I went with Kooks. When it comes to stepped headers, maybe it's a different story, but I don't think many companies even offer them.
