pacesetter gaskets...
I read some where they are kevlar material. I bought a set of copper for $20 just to be safe. I would assume they are nothing fancy and would do the job. I always like bumping the quality up a notch.
It sound like from reading old posts the key to successful sealing is locking bolts or go in every so often in the first 1000 miles and retighten them and they should be good to go with no further checking needed.
if they are now comming with copper then just use them. If not then get the felpros and ARP 1" 12pt bolts. I've used this combo several time with no problems. But as mentioned you should check em after the first heat cycle and every so often for the first few hundred miles.
After reading the post on them coming with cheap paper gaskets i orders the copper ones for 20.00. I received the mid's today and they had the ones with the kit and the ones i ordered, both being copper. The ports on the header are a little larger than the stock headers so when i stuck the $20 gaskets over the headers they were much smaller almost a 1/4" top to bottom. If i used anything but the ones for from the kit they would not seat properly. They both have the raised lip and if i bolted the $20 ones on they would not even touch the header so the seal would not be good. The ones in the kit line up dead perfect and should be dead perfect. After all is said and done i will return the ones i bought and use the kit gaskets. Hope this helps someone out. Now all i have to do is install them!
