I wondering about Pacesetter's claim for 50 state legal emissions on their mid tube headers. You see i just bought the LT4 Hot Cam kit and i want to get rid of those old manifolds aswel. So sure they will probably pass on a factory LT1. But will a hot cam kit change things? I also have a less restrictive muffler. "Hooker Super Comp Catback" Its got the "Aeroflow" muffler. Im not doing heads, gutting the cat, or anything like that. I need to pass. Thanks for the input in advance.
Oh, also will an e-cutout on my y-pipe cause me to fail the emissions test for any reason at all?

You might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. Without that info, it makes it a lot harder for people to help you.
Many states do not allow a cut-out that will allow the exhaust to bypass the muffler. You have to find out what your local laws are.
If Pacesetter claims "50-state legal" on the headers, they will come with a CARB-EO number and a nameplate welded onto one of the primaries. Most states appear to accept the California CARB certification, so you can go to the CARB website to find a list of their approved aftermarket parts.
The CARB certification applies only to the headers themselves. When installed on a stock engine, they are certified to not change emissions. Once you start adding aftermarket parts, Pacesetter can not certify that they will pass emissions. That's why each component either has or does not have CARB certification. There is no reason the LT4 HOT cam can't be tuned by a competent tuner to pass emissions.

Sorry, the car is factory except for a SLP CAI and a Hooker cat back. A4 and its getting 3.73's hotcam, and some shortys or mids. Thanks Injuneer.

What year is your car? In CA, it's illegal to move the stock cats. On 96 and up cars, you can't put anything except shorties on because of that, and not that many of them have CARB numbers.
