I have the TSP rumbler and it was a little too loud for me, though I liked the sound. I heard from many people that a chambered powerstick muffler would work well, being longer and would sound just like GMMG. Well, I got a medium sized one and it didn't quiet it down and sounded exactly the same.

Now, those of you familiar with this catback know that I know don't have much room to work with. I want to put short resonators or glasspacks of some sort before the tips, but I don't have much room to work with, only about 8-10 inches depending on which side. I don't want to have to extend my tips beyond the bumper to make this fit either, as I just recently had the tips tucked in because I didn't like how they stuck out past the bumper.

I did see on the classic chambered muffler site, it said that the bushings can be shortened or lengthened. What is meant by this, cut? Maybe I can cut a short stick in half and use them before the tips, anyone know? I already emailed them and am awaiting response.

If I can't get this to work, I'll finally have to just swap out the chambered power stick, but don't know what is out there that is quieter that I will like....

aren't the flowmaster single chambers really short? seems like i've seen them behind the axles and still have tips.

summit says they are just over 6" case length, 10" overall

 

How about a Borla XR-1. I've heard of people have good luck with those.

 

****. I thought I had been through every muffler on summit racing too, but didn't find anything short enough. I just bought those cherry bombs because I didn't find anything else. My main concern is I want to put them before the tips without them sticking past the bumper, as I just had my tips tucked in behind my bumper because I didn't like how they stuck out. They're actually stock z28 tips that have been ceramic coated, I've always liked those tips. The flowmaster would have worked great being they're even shorter and I could probably even cut the necks some. Sounds like from what you've seen they're used for my exact situation.

The borla xr-1 mufflers, from what I've researched are just a few inches too long.

Oh well, thanks teke and chrome. If it doesn't work out with the cherry bombs I could try the flows.

I'll post before and after videos for you guys too, when I get it done, it'll take a few weeks (free ground shipping).
