Alright I can't take it anymore lol.... Currently my build is a 383 stroker, CC306 cam w/ Stage 2 heads, 1.6rr's ect ect. My exhaust setup consists of Dynatech LT headers, to Spintech bullet mufflers, turned down. There is no connecting pipe, just one pipe off each header, and the exhaust ends about 3 feet before the axle. On top of the muffler there is like maybe 5 inches of actual piping and that's it. Needless to say it's ridiculously loud.


So I wanted to get true duals, x pipe, ?muffs ran all the way out the back, but now I'm considering just dumping it before the rear axle. My main concern is the mufflers. I want a muffler that's going to sound damn good, but quiet it down a ton compared to what it is now. I LOVE the sound of the GMMG catback, so maybe something chambered? I'd like to get some suggestions on an overall setup and especially which muffler to go with.

 

Honestly getting it quiet and dumping before the axle will be tough since the exhaust is going to resonant off the ground.

Getting a muffler big enough to quiet it down and fit under the car before the axle is going to be tough as well I think...

I have a Long-tubes and a TSP Rumbler on my car and its way too loud if I drove the car more than a couple times a week. But I can't imagine having it dumped under the car.

As far as a good sounding muffler I am a firm believer in Magnaflow...

 

I'm building a 355 with a cam similar to cc306 but with a more agressive profile and high lift with CR at 12.4... thinking of using the stock muffler to quite it down... But I dont have true duals... I also have another bullet style muffler after Y-pipe. And when I want a bit more sound I have a cutout I can open... sort of like borlas idea...
