My cutout experience
I think this is one of the best ways to do a cutout. It wasn't cheap but worth every penny. I have Pacesetter mids and a 3" high flow cat. I bought on Summit this 3" intermediate pipe http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=skufor $48.38 and have it run to rear passenger seat where the cutout is. I notice the price went up to $82.39 so I am glad I got it when I did. The cut out was only $24.95 and I got the Jegs electric opener for $225.00. I paid the exhaust shop $60 cash for the install and it looks way better then I thought it would. The car sounds incredible and fully open it vibrates a little but 2/3 open or less its almost as loud but is real crisp and no vibration at all. For around $360 I did what I would call the best mod on my car. I ran the wiring harness through the drain plug in the bottom of the back seat foot area and ran it through the interior out the firewall to the battery.
I can see gains on a restrictive muffler (Blowmaster). On mine, I swore mine felt faster with the cutout open according to the butt dyno. I think it was just a different experience due to the louder exhaust.
The real dyno said no gain when I was at 300RWHP. Now I am at 412RWHP and I have gains of 2-3RWHP with the cutout open. The Borla just flows this well.

I've had it on for a couple weeks and have played with the position as far as sound and vibration goes. 1/3 open it sounds like a very nice muffler and deep tone. 1/2 way open it sounds like a cutout but not too loud with a tiny vibration. 2/3 to all the way open its super loud and vibration is most obivious at low rpm's and cruising on the freeway. I have the loudest car around besides the 500+ hp racecars at the track. I keep it closed at the track till the race so i don't scare away the other cars.
