Is it easier to remove the valve covers and go from the top? Would I still have to take apart the steering linkage and stuff if I did it this way instead?

Also if I go in through the top could I snake it around the dip stick and just have to take off the alternator and starter?

This seems like it could be way easier to do

I tried to put mine in through the top...it didn't work. I didn't remove the valve covers though. I read on a write up that it was an exercise in futility even with the valve covers removed. If you are going to try going in from the top though, driver's side looked like it might have been the easiest one to get in that way. There just looked to be a little more room on that side as compared to the passenger side. Try it if you want to and let us know the results.

I think I tried that in the past and it didn't work, it ended up being much easier putting it in through the bottom.

Doubt you would be able to reuse the stock cats in an aftermarket ORY anyway due to the odd dimensions and the inlet/outlet diameters.

Yeah, I picked up some PB today, some High temp ceraic paint for finishing the scratches on the headers, and all of the slip fits I am going to need to MIG weld this thing together

I dont think I mentioned this before but I am going to be running the Pacesetters into high flow cats then into a Summit 2.5" X-Pipe. Then into 2 summit turbo mufflers dumped for now

Personally, I would hold the exhaust together with band clamps. If for some reason the exhaust has to come apart in the future and you have everything welded together, it will be a pain.

i put my passenger side in from the top, remove alternator, valve cover, and starter, jack the motor up a little bit, and it went right in

i think we did remove the dipstick and yes i have pacesetter LTs
as far as doing duals, be sure to buy poly mounts too, otherwise ur gonna have them bangin on ur floorboard
I would highly recommend band clamping it together, at least until u get it all figured out where it needs to be for the best fit, then u can pull it apart and weld it after u have an idea

Clearance on the passenger side is insanely tight as is, I don't see you getting that header in there without the dipstick out of the way.

yeah, thinking about it, we did remove it, really no big deal, kind of a PITA to get lined back up putting it back in though
