I've had magnaflow in the past and now I have a hooker but IMO the hooker sounds better. It really is quite quiet on idle, until you get on it.

Magnaflow all the way!!!!!!!You will love the sound man.Plus it is stainless steel.IMO the best Catback for its price range.Deep sound while cruising...screams under full throttle.Look at the tips and tell me which one looks better.

My biggest concern is how the sound changes once you go to LT's and an ORY. I know my flowmaster changed a lot. There weren't a lot of sound samples of Magnaflow catbacks with LT's, ORY's and a cam, and the hooker sounds pretty good but the material, and the comments that it is quiet make me think I should look somewhere else. I am waiting for the Car Craft summer cruise to see if I can find some Fbodies with Magnaflow, Hooker and maybe if I am lucky GMMG exhaust. But the more I think about it I lean closer to GMMG, the cost is a little high but hell I have so much money into it now, I might as well keep going.

I get exhaust compliments more than anything else on my car with a GMMG. I even had some exhaust shop guys chase me thru town one night just to ask what/where I got my exhaust from.

Both the Magnaflow and Hooker sound similar I think. I have heard both on a cammed LT, ORY LS1 and at idle they were quiet with some rumble but got loud at WOT. My friend with the Magnaflow got rid of his because he thought it was too quiet.

Save your money and get a GMMG. By far the best exhaust, IMO, out there for these cars. I always get compliments on the way mine sounds and looks!!! I can't wait to get a cam in it because it was just sound down right mean!

I love the sound of my SLP Loudmouth I, however it's a tad bit excessive. I'd like to go with a magnaflow just because of the nice healthy tone and long chrome tips.

but I'm most likely going to buy a GMMG to replace the loudmouth, nothing beats a chambered exhaust.

Does anyone have clips, and/or pics, of the GMMG? Who carries that exhaust?

Stainless is good .. but for $100 less I chose the Hooker ... i dont drive my car but once every other week or so ... but if your gonna be driving alot, then stainless is the way to go .. just dont ever drive mine. Buddy has Magnaflow on a 93 Trans Am, it is just too quite and I personally do not like the tone. Hooker is the best sounding exhaust ive ever heard on small block. +1 for Hooker .....

Like he said, don't base your opinion on sounds clips, it sounds so much better in person

I'm now very interested in the GMMG exhaust. It's freakin' expensive. Is it unbearably loud? I'm not really interested in something that's just overwhelmingly loud. I'd like to be able to carry on a conversation if someone else were in the car.

Not loud at all inside the car. Ya you can definetly tell it has an exhaust but no drone or resonating like the Loudmouth.

I've had people stop and ask me all the time if my car has a cam. It sounds like it does.

One more thing, at WOT it is audible sex!
