lost with muffler options
starts up front with pacesetter headers (catless all the way back)
pacesetter ory
flowmaster american thunder crossflow catback
now it sounds good, just not quite loud enough. ive looked everywhere for a replacement muffler. i cant find anything. i need something with single 3in inlet and duel 2.5in outlet but the catch is that i cant take it to a shop cause they wont touch a car without cats, i also hate taking anything i own to a shop. i also cant weld. i need help finding a direct clamp-on muffler for this setup. please help me! thanks in advance - nintythreez28

Re: lost with muffler options
The cheapest/loudest option would be to have a shop make you a muffler 'replacement'. Before I got my TSP, I took a 3" 90* elbow and a 2' length of 2.5" pipe and put them together. Cut a 3" hole in the 2.5" length of pipe and then cut the profile out of the end of the 3" elbow so it fit on the 2.5" pipe..sounds confusing I know, but just think of the letter 'h' with the straight part of the 'h' being the 2.5" and the curved section of the 'h' being the 3" elbow. It cost me $30 in pipe and a little of time welding it together.
Granted it isn't the best flowing design since the exhaust has to make a 90* turn coming out of the 3" elbow, but it was loud and cheap, and that is what I was after.
An exhaust shop should be able to fabricate something up for you fairly cheap and for about the same price of a muffler. Just ask around- a lot of shops that aren't chain franchise operations are willing to do "cash" jobs...just have to ask around.

Re: lost with muffler options
I'm trying to do the same thing with mine right now, except I want to switch from true duals to a y-pipe over the axle with tailpipes. I either want to put the muffler in the stock location and have the single in/dual out muffler or put a muffler in the intermediate pipe like on the LM2 or the TSP rumbler, since they have a y pipe in the rear that splits the tailpipes. Here is a quick paint drawing, lol
