Longtubes Rubbing Floorboard!!! ANNOYING

Installed some pacesetter LT's on my formula and now from a stop when I accelerate moderately to hard I can feel them banging the bottom of the floorboard underneath my feet on the driver side.. Its really really ANNOYING. Performance gain from the shortys I had on is night and day but damn I really cant stand feeling that everytime I take off. What to do gentlemen?

Thanks!

Re: Longtubes Rubbing Floorboard!!! ANNOYING

Had that problem also, Y-pipe hits floorboard drivers side. They indented the pipe but not enough in some cases...Couple of fixes, PITA at this point would be to try and get some down movement out of the right header by loosening or oblonging the rear header mounting holes a little. I banged in the soft metal floorboard a bit and then I added 3/16 inch shims (actually washers) between the transmission bracket and the chassis. This lowered the engine angle and gave me 1/2 inch more clearance from the Y-pipe to the floorboard. Got to be careful you don't mess up the drivetrain angle when you do this, I figured 3/16 inch was not major !! Also had to trim the plastic steering shaft cover and cut a some stock extra metal piece off the A4 bell housing, relocate KS harness on right firewall away from primary tube.. converted to OTVC plug wires. Headers were not plug and play.

check to see if you have a worn out motor mount also.
