Long Tubes + Modified Y-pipe with Cats
Long Tubes + Modified Y-pipe with Cats
Yes, I've done the search, but didn't find what I was looking for.
Has anybody built a custom y-pipe with 2 cats added to hook up to long tubes. I'm in CA, so need to pass the sniffer. Visual..not as worried. Anyone in CA specifically do this and pass sniffer? My only concern is that the cats would move farther from the engine, so less efficient (from what I read). Is there space?
My "friend" wants to know...not me.
My friend has in mind of having 2 yipes:
1) with cats to be installed...say... every 2 years for a day or 2
2) no cats, but with emission fittings, for the rest of the year

yes it is possible to add the cats to the y-pipe, I'm contemplating on going that route myself. I'm not in CA so I can't really comment on it passing sniffer or not but I think it would. just on a side note, wouldn't long tubes in CA fail you anyways??? in visual inspection?
well i had a custom y made with cats put in, when i was building my exhaust, i was planning on having emissions. now they changed the law and i never had to take the emissions test. but they guy that built it told me i should eaisly pass the sniffer test.
