lock tight on header bolts????
lock tight on header bolts????
about to start doing a gasket swap on hooker long tubes on lt1. should i put a dot of lock tight on the bolts or leave them bare if i should use lock tight which one blue right????
Just use anti-seize on the bolts. Don't use locktite, just make sure they are tight, and re-tighten them after some heat cycles. Mine never loosened up even after a few heat cycles, don't understand how so many people have problems with header bolts coming loose.
mine cam loose a little but i always checked them but since i am putting on the new gaskets and it is such a pain in the a$$ just tryingt o make it where i dont blow out another set and have to do it again
I agree with the post above, use a small amount of antiseize as your threading steel bolts into an aluminum head. Loctite won't work anyways as the heat of the exhaust would "melt" the loctite.
