Kooks 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 headers, custom Mufflex y pipe PICS!

Hey guys, I finally had the y pipe done about 3 weeks ago, and I’m just finally getting around to posting the pics. I installed Kooks 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 / 3" collector headers, with all emissions fittings. I then trailered the car down to Mufflex (thanks to my buddy Joe for volunteering his services, Ford F-350 duallie, and 28' enclosed trailer) and had Denny fab me up a custom y pipe with cats to mate up to my Mufflex 4" cat back. I am VERY pleased with the way it all came out. What I upgraded from was Grotyohann 1 3/4 long tubes, with a 3-inch y pipe. The sound of the car is very different, it’s deeper. I’m really surprised at that, I didn’t think it would honestly. Oh, and since I didn’t want to run the small AC Delco filter, and then having to twist it sideways to get it out, thus dumping oil all over the headers, I did a remote filter install as well. The kit came from Canton, and they are all top quality parts. Both the oil filter pad and block are billet, and the lines and fittings are all –10. It mounted up very nicely, and I have experienced no oil pressure loss. OK, enough of me typing, here they are:

I think it all came out pretty good, what do you guys think?

Thumbs up

Looks great! Like those valve covers too. Never seen those before. Good to know no loss in oil pressure as I've got the same canton setup w/ a accusump and oil cooler all mounted up. Have to wait a few more days before I crank it up though.

Thanks for the compliments guys. ZBLKHELLRZR, the valve covers are made by ProForm, they are carried by GM. They sell them in either a black crinkle finish, or polished. I opted for the black crinkle, which I then sanded, and painted to match my intake and elbow. The stuff from Canton is all top notch stuff, all billet machined pieces and free flowing passages. I couldn’t be happier with the turnout and performance. As far as the y pipe goes, I posted about a month ago that I was going to have it made by Denny at Mufflex, with the possibility of having it mass produced for others that run Kooks headers. After discussing it with him, and noting the lack of response to the posting I made, he decided no to proceed with it. I guess anyone else that wants one will have to take there car there in person.

Looks pretty good.

Dumb question..But, do you think there is potential gain, with switching from 1 3/4 LT header, to a stepped header like that? Say...383ci+ motor?
