Just looked under my car and...

What all is needed to do for a header install...

It's packed under there, it appears alot of stuff needs to be removed

Can anyone send me a link of a header-install-guide?

It's very intimidating and makes me think I will need to have them installed professionally but maybe a good guide will persuade me otherwise...

I have one in my cardomain site..

I used Teke's install too..

I thought LS1 how to had one.. But I guess not..

It's actually not that bad.. Installing the LT's them selves is that hardest part, and even that isn't exactly demanding.. just need patience and beer..

Use a lift or jack the car SKY HIGH ifd you're doing it in your garage.. I used ramps too..

Hard to understand how anyone could tell you how to install headers without knowing anything at all about your car. Need to know the year, model, engine, trans, and any major mods. Why not add a "signature" with all that info, so people can provide more accurate answers.

There are so many bad mechanics out there i would never trust one to do something like this on my car. If you have someone you trust of can have someone help you that would be the way to go. If your intimidated it will only get worse when you actually try to do the work. There is no better place imo then here if you try it and need advice quickly.

I'm gonna store the car in the winter so I guess why not tear it apart then...thanks for the links

If you've got a lift and air tools and don't do this job yourself, someone needs to smack you. It's really not that bad if you have a lift. The biggest pain is getting the old stuff off. I just put a set of Pacesetters on my car and they went in pretty easily. The only real issue that I had was the transmission dipstick tube got in the way of the EGR, so I wound up ditching the system. If it's your first time doing a job this size, plan on spending the weekend doing it. If you've got someone that's done the job before, you can get it done in 4 or 5 hours.

Its not as bad as it looks, but a majority of the work will be done underneath the car. If you have access to a lift, that will help dramatically.

Yea, I can normally do it, but I would HATE to snap a bolt up there or something...

I'm about to pick up some Pacesetter Longtubes, pacesetter ypipe, and 3.5" flowmaster cat-back for $300...

I'm gonna park the car for the winter anyways so I will have lots of time to work on it...

Spray all of the old bolts really well with PB Blaster, that should help prevent any breakage.
