I searched the forums but im runnung outta time

I want an exhaust system for 01 z28.I want the best you can get I was going to go for the borla or Corsa now I have no emmissions here in FL. Now I want performance I doint care about the sound I am here for performance never heard a bad sounding v8 in my life maybe ok but not bad. I need your help guys.

Should I just get straight pipes and borla muffler or should I buy the borla or corsa money not much of an issue here as you see I am buying borla or corsa. Also I heard hooker headers are the best is that true if not which one is?? Remember money not really an issue I got awesome credit so my credit limit at 21 is 5000 dollars lol

Performance only you can't beat a cutout. If you want a full catback exhaust system, I'd probably go with something like a 4" Mufflex system and a 4" Magnaflow muffler single/single out. That will give you room to grow from a mild bolt on car all the way to a high hp motor. I have hooker longtubes on my car and like em fine, but they hang lower than I'd like.

I love the Borla tips, but I'm not a fan of the open plate sound (which is basically a cutout).

Borla and Corsa you're paying for a name. Just bc they're expensive doesn't mean they're the best. They're 3" systems and will do fine for most applications but they will not outflow a 4" system. You asked for pure performance and a 4" system is going to do that.

If you want a pretty exhaust or a big name then Borla or Corsa will work great.

I don't know where to find them for a good price?

I would call them and see if they'll sell you just the 4" piping or if they'll let you swap out the spintech or flowmaster for a magnaflow.

Your other option is to run duals. There's tons of information on dual exhaust setups in the forum.

If you want good flow and you plan on longtubes, just go true duals. I wouldn't go with 4" pipes, seems a little much, plus you'll lose ground clearance. Loudmouth gets both praise and rejection, but it flows good, because there is no muffler, just a resonator, and full 3" pipes all the way back.

Custom 3" true duals with an X-pipe and any muffler with a straight-through design.

4" pipes won't do anything on a stock-ish motor.

I've read that on some Dyno pulls the GMMG only lost like 2 hp over an open cutout, so I'm not sure I buy that its restrictive.

Here is the link to GMMG http://www.gmmginc.net/Exhaust/index.php
