I got SLP LM1s and need help installing

I would like to do it myself...I told myself I'm gonna do all the work on the car myself cause I wanna learn. This would be my first Exhaust installation. Could You guys tell me how to remove the Existing Catback and install the New exhaust? I also have the SLP installation kit to fit my Lt1...

I know it should be a peice of cake and stuff but I just want some help before I do it...lol I dont want to mess anything up.

If you can be in depth and stuff That would be greatly appreciated! Thanks alot!!

Been forever since I've messed with the stock exhaust, but it's a pretty straight forward swap. Hardest part will probably be breaking those rusted nuts/bolts loose. Make sure you soak them with pb blaster before you start.

Saw the old stock exhaust just behind the rear axle.I did mine by hand, but one of those electric saws would make life much easier.

Cut the I-pipe just behind the rear axle, makes removing it so much easier.Unless of course you want to keep the stock exhaust in one piece for whatever reason.
Use some exhaust assembly paste when you fit the new cat-back,it will fit together easier and ensure a gas tight seal.

The I-pipe is the pipe that runs all the way from the muffler to the cat, most after market cat- backs usually come in a few sections for ease of installation,so fitting the new one should be easy.
My Pypes SGF 55 cat-back came in one piece and was a nightmare to fit,had to drop some of the rear suspension components.
I used drive on ramps and reversed up onto them, giving me plenty of room to crawl under there,of course like most jobs it would be easier on a lift.
Hope the install goes well and you're happy with the sound .
Best regards,Mark.

lol so basically, ( if I dont decide to save the Stock catback to sell or anything) I can cut the Exhaust anywhere I want, even 15 times if I have to just to take it off? It doesnt really matter?

Not a lot .
I kept the stock tips and clamps just for old times sake, the rest of the stock cat-back arrived at the local dump shortly afterwards.
Take it for a drive with no cat-back on at all,it will sound mean as hell .

It's ok to have a gap in your exhaust? Or I would need an extra Pipe ( to replace the Cat )?

What I meant was, when you have removed the old exhaust, take your car for a drive with it exiting straight fom the catalytic converter, before you fit the new exhaust,it will sound nice.I drove mine with open headers once, sounded like it had come straight from hell.
Most people recommend leaving the catalytic converter on with the LM exhaust, apparently it gets a bit raspy if you gut the cat or fit a test pipe.
