How long should headers smoke?

I just installed pacesetter longtubes, uncoated. I definitely spilled a bit of oil on them adjusting valves, as well as a mishap when the funnel slipped. I assume the coating is burning off (cheap black stuff you can scratch away) which is causing it to smoke a bit, how long does it normally take to all burn off, though?

I just got done w/ mine about a week ago. Mine stopped visually smoking from the hood after a few days, but up until about a week after I could still smell the paint flaking/burning. By looking at them you should be able to see lots of paint flaking.

Does your smoke come out of the pipe or hood?

Thats when you open that cutout and dust that **** so you can't see any smoke. LT's + cutout == goodness. I love mine.

I don't understand how opening the cutout will prevent the primaries from smoking?

yeah they will smoke really bad for about 15-20 minutes then slowly smoke for a few more hours. the oil should burn off withing 15 minutes of driving. and they will smell weird for a good week.
