How to install headers

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to install headers on my 1996 Camaro z28 without using a lift.

Jack stands and a floorjack... The lift isn't going to make a huge difference in some aspects, you are still going to have to remove several things in order for you to fit the headers in the engine bay, such as the starter, alternator, oil dipstick, steering linkage, coolant temp sensor, spark plugs, ect.

Brent has a writeup that goes over it a little bit: http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/exhaustday.htm
My best advice before starting the job would be to spray all of the old hardware down really well with PB Blaster, which is a rust penetrant.

Get the car about 36 inches off the ground measured from the bottom of the door on all four sides. Truck jack stands go up nearly this high.

Check out how my "regular" jack stands are maxed out and not touching anything. I had to get the car up this high for the LTs to slip in. It's all about height. I wasted most of my day thinking "this is high enough, lets try now"

I also had stands under the rear axle because the ramps seem effy to me.
You can see my truck stands in the front. Lots bigger.

Have multiple fail safe backups.
