Wondering how hot the headers are at the collectors. Looking to insulate under DS floorpan. Want to make sure insulation is compatible with temps. I believe it's rated for 500 direct heat.

 

Insulate for what? Are your headers over heating something?

 

I actually was thinking of using it to keep the y pipe from rubbing against the floorboard. I know I need to fix it correctly, ie reshape the y pipe, but I dont have time right now.

I just wanted to " jam" some heat tape in there to get the pipe off the floor. I know its a little rigged, but I think it will help a bit. It really bothers me when I come to a stop and you can hear the pipe rattling under the car.
