Well shortys should bolt up to stock Y pipe. Long tubes are your best bet if you want to make power. Then you have to shop around for a y pipe that will work with your application. Do you need to keep the cat(s). What year is your car and where do you live? Create a signature so we know these things and it will make it easier in the future when you ask questions. Kook's and Stainless works sell Y pipes to fit their products and some others so I would check there if you need to find one to fit before you buy the headers.

Most shorties come with their own Y-pipe.

sorry for the misinformation. My only experience with shorties are Edelbrock and they use stock Y pipe.

Like USAFretired said, we need to know what your requirements are (horsepower, ground clearance, emissions, etc.) to help advise you between long tubes and shortys. There are TONS of topics on that debate, so do a search. To sum it up (I've had both shortys and long tubes on my car), if you have ground clearance or emissions to deal with there's nothing wrong with a set of shortys. If your trying to get every ounce of horsepower out of your car, or plan on doing more than just bolt-ons, I'd suggest getting long tubes.

The hooker super comp long tubes are one of the lowest hanging headers (from what I've seen), so if you plan on having your car lowered more than 3/4-1" or you live in a area with lots of speed bumps, steep driveways, etc, you might look at a different header. I have pacesetter long tubes and they tuck up pretty nicely.

I have Hooker long tubes on my car for four years now and have never hit anything with them yet. Love the sound of them compared to others and they fit great with no modifications.
