help should I be scared
ok well I don't know if it's an exhaust problem but when I start my car up it starts up fine but then I rev it to about 3000 rpm there's a pop after. It only does it whenever I first start it up. I don't have any mods except k&n n flowmasters. It's a 2000 z28 with 67000 miles on it. Again it revs fine but when I release it gurgles then pops. Thanks guys. Love this websight oh and it's an automatic
Does it do it when the engine gets warm? My LT1 does the same thing until it gets warm.
From what I've read on here, the popping is just a thing where the engine is cold and in open loop mode. The car is not burning all the fuel in the cylinders and then it gets shoved into the exhaust pipe were it ignites and you hear the pop.
Once warmed up, the car goes into closed loop where it meters the fuel more precisely and hence, burns all the fuel in the cylinder.

i believe the term for it is a backfire... and yea... revving your engine when you just start it up isnt a good idea. your oil hasnt had a chance to fully go through your engine, and could result it many more problems that im sure you wouldnt wann ahave to deal with. jus my .02
