Help installing Pacesetter Headers

I bought pacesetter headers for my 94 z28. I went around town to see if anyone could install them for me and to see how much it would cost. No one would do it. So Im gonna do it myself tomorrow, just need some help on how to do it.

did you buy longtube headers? if so you will not be able to keep your stock y-pipe, or your cat.

Best advice for starting the project would be to buy a couple cans of PB Blaster and really hose down all of the old manifold and ypipe bolts to make disassembly alot easier.

Do this a couple of times, at least a day or two in advance.

Also, give yourself two days to do it instead of just one. It's a labor intensive project and you'll thank yourself for giving yourself some extra time to do it.

Take lots of breaks and get the car real high on jack stands or use a lift. Read a few stories on here and they will give you every short cut and issue you may deal with. I bought a cat on Ebay for $50 and it was a high flow 3". Then had a muffler shop weld it on for $25. I recommend a stubby plug socket and your life will be better.

Just to give you an idea how fun it is, my buddy has a shop that does custom work on Corvettes and f-bodies. He gets $500.00 for the labor only to install headers on a f-body. Have fun.

i just did this job like 2 weeks ago, lemme see if i can help:

make sure the front of the car is AT LEAST 2 feet higher or the headers wont go in. dont jack up the car till the manifold bolts are off though.

be sure to hit the bolts with some type of penetrating lube.

get a breaker bar/long socket wrench

take off the plastic housing thing off the steering arm, itll get in the way.

BE CAREFUL when you take out the dipstick, and DO NOT WIGGLE IT, ask what happenes when you wiggle it.

unplug the oil pressure sensor near the oil filter.

buy wire looms.

dont re use old o2 sensors.. youl be happy you didint just buy new ones.

and finally please take your time.. it took me almost 3 days but i had some problems along the way. allow for at least 2 full days of work

good luck
