Help with installing mid pipe.

Hello,

I have a 86 z28 with a 305 v8 that I've owned since new. Its got about 32,000 miles on it and the factory exhaust behind the cat is final rotted out. I'm just replacing the mid pipe and back. I got the mid pipe out since I could wreck it getting it out. I'm doing it with the back end blocked up and it looks like getting the new pipe in is not going to be easy unless I take to a garage with a hoist.

Whats the trick to snake a new mid pipe over the rear axle and the track bars? I'm going back in with stock exhaust so the mid pipe is one piece from the cat to the muffler.

Re: Help with installing mid pipe.

Would it be that hard to drop the rear end down to get some clearance if you had to?

Re: Help with installing mid pipe.

I ran in to a guy that worked on a lot of camaro's at the auto store picking up the pipes and he said to remove the track bars and jack up the body and let the axle hang. It worked.
