Headers and Exhaust Complete! *Pics*

All is finished. I ended up just putting a single stainless Magnaflow instead of duals. I love the way this sounds. It is quieter than my the Flowbastard I had on there before. With the headers and the exhaust if feels more like it runs smoother.

Only problem I have right now is that the passenger side header is hitting the floorboard. Whenever is it at idle it hits or when I accelerate kind of hard.

I'm waiting on my O2 extensions to get here, then it is going to be on the road!

Here are the open headers. We put some firewall heatshield stuff over the fuel lines. I had no other ideas. Any suggestions as to what I could cover them with? There is only about 2 inches of space between the pipe and the lines. Oh...that is Mike. He did most of the work making the pipes.

The custom made a Y pipe. I was there the whole time when they did it. They took there time and did a nice job.

I chose these stainless tips because they look more like the stock tips.

Looks good. I like the tips. How's the ground clearance? How much were the headers?

Thanks!

Ground clearance is fine. The lowest part is the y-pipe from the driver side. Still plenty of clearance.

Pacesetter LongTubes Ceramic Coated: $429

Tips were on eBay for like $50.

Looks good, I'm curious, why did you go with a custom y-pipe versus the one Pacesetter offers? I didn't wrap my fuel/brake lines with anything and I have about the same amount of distance as you. Haven't had any issues with it. Heatshield tape is usually the route people go though.

The ORY that Pacesetter would have been about $115 on top of the cost of the headers. I wasn't sure what I was going to run when I ordered them back in January. Plus, it didn't cost me any extra for them to make the Y-pipe. I paid $300 total for everything. Pipes, Magnaflow, and installation.

I wasn't sure about the fuel lines. I was going to got some heat wrap for the pipe. That was my next step.

Did your headers hit the floorboards at all? They were hitting on the driver side. But we put an imprint on the floorboards there and it took care of it. But they still hit on the passenger side.

One of the advantages of changing the motor mounts at the same
time as a header install. I installed urethane mounts (Prothane) at
the time I did the headers - no engine torquing here.

I meant to change mine. They were $147 a piece at AutoZone. I said f that. I just didn't have the money.

Plus the motor mounts didn't look that bad. Although I couldn't see inside them.

You can get the whole 3-point set of Prothane's for $72.00 or just the motor mount set for $49.00:

EDIT: And yes, you can't accurately tell if the mounts are bad
because they live inside a clamshell casing.

Is the y pipe welded to the headers?

I hope those aren't welded. I can't wait to cut my stock y-pipe off my nice GMMG exhaust.. I hate that the previous owner had that done like that
