Headers and Exhaust
Headers and Exhaust
I have a 97 Trans Am and im looking for advise, im thinking about putting flowmaster exhaust and i dont have a clue on what headers i want to put on it. I could use advise on what else i could do to my car! thanks
I dont have to worry about emissions, and as for budget, im in the army so thats not really big. what exhaust would be recommended? Any other add ons that you would recommend?

flowmasters are regarded as abouit the worst aftermarket muffler setup to use.
they usually sound great...but are quite restrictive.
as for headers...what's your budget??
you can go budget and get coated LTs for under $500
or you can go stainless and spend $1000+
hm...all this assuming you want LTs...more info please

Do you have emissions regulations to satisfy? If not, then I would definitely consider the long tubes. If you do have emissions testing, then I would look into shorties or mid-lengths. There are lots of options for both headers and catbacks and all of this has been covered in many posts. It might not hurt to do a search and dig up some of the old posts, they may be quite helpful to you.
I personally like my set up: I have SLP loudmouth with Pacesetter midlengths b/c I dont want to worry about emissions...if you don't have emission though, I would go with the long tubes...like teke184 said, flowmaster is the worst catback you can probably buy
