Headers for 97 SS with TOTL
Hi everyone,
I think my dad saw how much fun I was having in my 96 Z28, so he one upped me and bought a 97 SS in fantastic condition. (not that im jealous or anything )
He started thinking about headers, but he wants to keep the TOTL exhaust, and I dont blame him. What are his options? Midlengths or shorties?
Thanks!

What are the emissions requirements? Do they need to be CARB-EO certified headers?
If they are dual cat CARB headers, they typically will connect to the stock Y-pipe. Everything from there on back can remain. Not a lot of people, if anyone still making these.
But if the aren't CARB headers, you need to get a set with a matching Y-pipe, with or without cats, and make sure it attaches to the stock intermediate pipe. I think they have to be specific to 96-97, or else you may need an "S" pipe to connect the Y-pipe to the intermediate pipe.
