Header install help???

Just ordered my Pacesetter LT's w/o EGR and ORY from TSP. I eliminating the emissions on my car since I live in a state that has no emissions laws. I was wondering if I needed new header bolts or if I could use my stock ones and what kind of gaskets should I use. And I'm not all that sure what has to be removed when getting rid of the and EGR. And I was also wondering about O2's, can I get rid of those too and just have them tuned out, or how does it work? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions, I'm not all that familiar with engines (especially modding one) since I paint cars for a living. Little help would be greatly appreciated.

The Pacesetter headers should come with some gaskets and bolts, but they are not the best of quality. Some aftermarket gaskets and some locking header bolts would be wise upgrades. As for the 02s, you need to leave the front 02 sensors intact. It is the rear 02s that are mounted after the catalytic converters that you can have either tuned out or buy a pair of 02 simulators and plug them into the rear 02 sensor wiring harness connectors. But seeing that you are getting rid of the EGR system, you will have to have that tuned out of the PCM so you might as well have the rear 02s disabled that way as well.

to remove the EGR, you'll only have to plug the hole in the front of the intake manifold. if the headers had emmissions fittings you'd need a block off plate.

i'd suggest oem style metal gaskets...could have gotten them through thunder. but any parts store should hve them.

i used stock bolts and had no problems. just recheck them after a few test drives.

any questions on the install...read through this guide, should help.
