Good routing for plug wires w/headers

I notices today that my number 7 wire is hitting the header pipe and has only discolored so far, what should Ido to keep it from burning through? Currently I have them run above the header because it looked if I were to have run them underneath that they would have been in direct way of the the headers making them subject to even more heat. Any help would be great.

I guess it varies on what parts you run on your car. I have SLP shorties on my LT1 and on my driver side....I run the wires over the valve cover....looks cool.

I also have Comp Cam 1.6 RRs,so have "taller" valve covers. So, unfortunately, on the passenger side...I have no room to go over the cover...basically went below similar to stock.

So kinda looks weird, but I don't mind. Hell....I lost one of the brackets for the over the valve wires...so I have a tie wrap holding a wire in place. It's my daily driver..nothing really exciting to look at under the hood anyways.
