going true exhaust but need to know first

going true exhaust but need to know first

i going for true duel exhaust in my 93 camaro but i wanna get cat in my system to stay legal. but i heard doing this, i well lose power and sound. is that true or not? because i don't wanna lose power and the that great sound of a my set up.

here the list of parts i going for my set up:

Two Moroso Glass Pack 3 inch mufflers

Summit Universal X-Pipe Kits SUM-642125 3 inch

Two SLP Performance Parts High-Flow Catalytic Converters 3 Inch
or
Two MagnaFlow Universal Spun Metallic Catalytic Converters 3 Inch

Won't running true duals make the car illegal anyways? I know it will not pass visual and the sniffer is doubtful at best.

You will lose a little sound and power with the cats.

Yes, cats will lessen sound and some power, but you will NOT pass smog without them.

I agree. I'm pretty sure true duals is illegal in emissions states.

well, i live in texas and i heard alot of emission testing in the big city like austin and dallas but now it might hit everywhere. and i want this on my car because i want great horse power but sound great at the same time. i might make my decided lil later to go for it or don't!

i went to the muffler shop and they told me that they can't do it and it to hard to make the set.........and top of that, they also told me it can't be done.

Sounds like you need to find a new exhaust shop that knows what they are talking about.

if you look on ls1tech there is a section or sticky on true duals. Its like 20 pages long. I would give it to you but i dont know how to post links or pictures.

BUt it has sound clips and plently of pics. Print some up and bring them into the shop that said it cant be done. Than find a real exhaust shop.

that what i am thinking. i live in temple and their only 5 shop but 15 mile down the road. their this speed shop. i going to ask them them if that can do it. also this shop told me that the cat has a senors??? WTF

i wonder is their a oval exhaust pipe. because i remember reading something like that on some camaro magazine awhile back!

Yes there is. It is expensive, but I believe it is made by SpinTech.

since i can't ran the pipe's over the axle. is it ok to put it on the each side of the car?

I would dump them at the axle, get turndowns and have them point to the locker on the rearend.

That way your not getting the exhuast smell in the cabin all the time.
