Flowmaster Questions

I have two questions regarding the flowmaster catbacks from summit.

1. I don't know the difference between these two catbacks for my car (95 TA single Cat) except that this one http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku is cheaper than this one.http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku . Is it just the more expensive one has a 3" tailpipe as opposed to the cheaper one with a 2.5" tailpipe? They are both still three inch exhaust right?

2. Second question is does anyone know what muffler (the 80's series or the 40's series) is used in these systems? I like the way the 40 series sounds but not the 80. THanks for the help.

One of the other differences between those 2 systems is that the cheaper one doesn't have polished stainless tips, whereas the expensive one does.

Having had the Flowmaster cat-back myself, I wouldn't recommend it . It began rusting within ~1 year, didn't provide any gains (other than sound) and after ~3 years, rotted out completely .

Do yourself a favor and buy a Magnaflow cat-back for about the same price, and get a better flowing exhaust that will LAST!!

I've always liked the way the Hooker exhaust sounds on an LT-1.

Flowmaster catback

The muffler is a 80 series and i,m happy w/the sound.Power wise i dropped e.t by a tenth(common w/ most catbacks) and mph went from98.45-99.04 so there was a gain there as well.I cut off the lousy stock tips and put on 3 in. chrome tips that look a lot better but because they weren,t stainless they periodically need some rubbing compound to keep looking like new and the fact that car isn,t used in winter helps too. My first choice was the HOOKER cat back but there was a long delay when i put in order so i went w/Flowmaster,if and when minegoes i might get the Hooker but i might even try buying used.
