Finished Header install car not running great
So finished my Hooker LT header install with hooker catback. Headers were coated by a local shop. The car ran good on the first drive, then engine light came on, forgot to clearance passenger O2 harness away from header and I wire burned through and grounded to header. Fixed the wire but engine light is still on. Last night went for a drive and car started running like crap (missing) so assuming a plug wire came loose or burned.
My question is 02 sensor related, will replacing O2 sensors remove the engine light or do I need to 'clear' the code with TunerCat software? (or similar)
I have read in a few posts that newly coated headers will wreck stock O2 sensors, how many miles should I have before I put new ones in?
Thanks,
Trevor

If you got them coated. the coating will foul the oxygen sensors for the "break in" period.
Did you get your back o2 sensors programmed out, i'm assuming you have an off road y-pipe.
egr, air?
What codes are you getting?

I haven't checked for codes as my friend has the software at his house, going to do this today. Car is a 95, so only o2's are in the header collectors, and I built an off road y-pipe. EGR is there still, just made a block off plate for the tube that went into rear or intake manifold. The AIR has been deleted, and was done when I did an tune up with MSD opti, plugs, wires a couple of months ago.
I'd check the codes, it could be a number of things. As noted, coated header have a tendency to trash older 02 sensors. I would drive with the old 02 sensors for around a week or so. Also, I'd double check the harness repair and make sure all of your plug wires have tight connections and none of the wires are burnt.

Alright here is the update, trashed #5 plug wire (my fault routed it like a clown so cooked wire on header tube), fixed that car running good now with no miss. Drove car and scanned with freescan, showing both 02 sensors are bad, showing a Code 26 (don't know what this is???), EGR code. Going to buy new O2 sensors today and install them with caspers extensions, I cut the old o2 sensor wires and extended them before doing research and realizing you can't do that! Then going to scan car again.
