I think i made it in the wrong place at first and decided to post here too...

I got a 93 z28 Lt1 and have a flowmaster single out with cat, hypertech chip, UD pulley kit, and a K&N cold air intake. and want to do something different with my exhaust such as a side exit in front of the rear wheels with two glass packs and no cats but and am afraid it will sould trashy and far too loud although loud is good. Please give me your opinions on what i can and cant do.

 

Looks like you need a custom exhaust system. How about a cut-out infront of the axle??? I see gm HiTech has article on the sound police. An interresting read. I too am considering mod to my exhaust (single 3 1/2" w/ Qtp cut-out and spintech muff. - modified Mufflex) You may want to do some fact searching on state laws. They want to hassel and control us. It is a real problem when you go FI due to need for high flow. Maybe a bike would be a better alternative?
